Name: Ash Spencer
Position: Director Technical Operations
Where are you from?
I was born and raised right here in Bunbury.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I have many interests, but I would say my favourite thing to do is travel and experience new things. So far my favourite experience has been skydiving - I'm hoping to do this again, but this time over Lake Taupo in New Zealand.
I have a real passion for gaming, both PC and board games. I support a local business, Brain Spice, by attending their game evenings to trial new games on the market. I also team up with online players across the world to compete in online games. I have made some long-term friendships through this.
What is your background in the IT industry?
I have worked in the IT industry for 16 years and counting!
The path that led me to a life in IT was quite interesting, as originally, I studied civil engineering, electrical trade, fitting & machining at TAFE. After completing my studies, I started working as a machine operator, but realised it wasn't for me, so I looked for work in IT and soon started working for TNE.
16 years later I am still working for TNE and enjoying every minute of it: creating, implementing and overseeing TNE’s technical operation, as well as designing, implementing and maintaining network environments for our large range of customers.
I am passionate about providing an effective and efficient IT environment for our clients and understand the importance of continually developing my skills and knowledge, so that I can be at the top of my IT game.
What attracted you to TNE?
I was attracted to TNE for many reasons: it's client-focused attitude and the fact that it provides a very supportive, close-knit working environment. When a position opened up at TNE, I knew instantly that I wanted to become a part of the TNE team - a team that works together to provide honest and reliable service.
There are plenty of other IT companies - why should a business use TNE?
TNE focus purely on business IT solutions, meaning our technical staff are highly trained and up to date with the latest technologies. This ensures we provide high quality business IT solutions to all of our clients.
The TNE team are passionate about IT and we strive to provide open and honest IT advice, whilst tailoring our advice to meet the business needs of each and every client. We do not provide quick fixes, we implement strong solutions and regular maintenance to reduce downtime for your business and save you money.
What does the future hold for yourself and/or TNE?
Personally, my fiancé and I are expanding our family and I am eagerly awaiting the birth of my first son, who is due in October. It has been a great journey so far and I am looking forward to the start of a new chapter and meeting him.
For TNE, we are looking to expand the business with a team of skilled technicians, whilst maintaining a focus on customer service and continually improving the services we offer.
